is the "SafeGulf" thing even being used?and is the "MIST" course necessary for guys in the north sea working as divers or is it just for rig hands etc.?thanksSee More

A lot of GOM companies use SafeGulf, but they should pay for it if they need you to have it.

MIST is currently needed for guys working from Platforms, Jack-ups or MODU's in the North sea. I know of one Sat boat who had to get everyone 'misty' for a particular contract, but it's not widespread on vessels yet.

I had a hard time finding a couple here in the US new. Probably really hard to find used ones. Nice harness system though. I like the Harness, weight belt and bailout all in one.

Those years al the divers got issued with a Rolex Submariner, beautiful and flashy, when I left the unit I got to keep it. I still have the watch, locked in my gun safe. Its expensive to service, so now I work with a Citizen Aqualand Pro-Master, very nice, heavy, tuff piece and 4years of hard underwater worx & no problem, its also reasonable to service cost wise, and it works well with the depth gauge & log. The Rolex I use as a dress watch and the Citizen as my work piece!
