The use of SCUBA equipment in commercial diving operations

Are there any situations or work tasks that require the use of SCUBA equipment instead of the surface supplied air for commercial diving operations?

hahahaha who started this thread ?? I hate you!
F it! for the record im gonna say that in most Commercial Diving applications Scuba has no place. Thats my story and Im sticking with it,
Im gonna go look at the C-diver girls.
Wow good one Dale ! SPORT SCUBA DIVERS DOING PROFESSIONAL WORK.
OK HERE IS ONE TO REMBER;
"SO MR CONTRACTOR ARE YOU GOING TO TELL ME YOUR HIRING SOMEONE A/WITH SPORT SCUBA TO DO THE JOB THAT REQUIRES A PROFESSIONAL DIVER ?
I DON"T THINK YOU ACTUALLY REALIZE THE REAL DANGERS THAT ARE INVOLVED HERE ?"
NICE! Cant blame ya thewills... there is good ass or dumb ass LMFAO!!!!
Read on offshorediver.com about the deaths on SCUBA while working. Too many to think about. I almost got fired from my very fist diving job right out of school working for Schaefer Diving in Galveston. I got tired of waiting for the diver to arrive after I had the gear set up in the middle of the night to do a wheeljob on a tugboat. I jumped in and cleared the screws of a long length of chain on snorkel while no one was watching. My badass got one of the biggest asschewings ever and I deserved it. Go to a few funerals and you will change your mind too. SCUBA means no comms, no backup airsupply, and no one to come and get you until after the sheriffs departments recovery divers get there.
Dang it Sarah, will you please move your hands.
Years ago The City of Vallejo, California asked for proposals to inspect a damaged sewer outfall pipe. 1800' internal . three commercial diving contractors quoted the job with full crews and equipment for work in max depth 80 feet.
They gave the job to a SCUBA diver who went into the pipe with one tank and line tied to him with a big loop bowline and a pal holding it at the entrance to the land manh*** access.
I recovered the body the next day with a full crew and equipment (no $ saving there). I also testified at the lawsuit filed by the widow against the City of Vallejo that thay violated all safety rules and laws.
The wife got $3M for and a boyfriend to help spend it.
Another diver working for Parker Divers of Redwood Shores,Ca went through a ships prop all we found of him was bits of neoprene with gore on it.
A third SCUBA diver for the same outfit drowned inside of a sunken ferry boat, ran out of air and got lost.
In all there are 8 of the dead dumb bastards I have had to bring up all at one time or another . SO IF YOU WANT YOUR WIFE'S BOYFRIEND BECOME RICH USE SCUBA.
MAKE ME MARTIN!
