I am still a student of the ocean corp as of feb.22nd 2010. for those that plan on going there i just want to give you a heads up. i cant really speak about the dive part of the school because im NDT. but the school in wh*** is a dump. If you visit the school they wont show you all the class rooms. most of them are very dirty and a couple of them look like storage sheds and should be used as such. For the NDT students, they will tell you that you will be a level 2 inspector when you gaduate. Far from true. The fact is, you will have the knowledge of a level 2 but you will still only be a trainee. You cant be a level 2 unless you have logged so many work hours. As of right now the schol cost 16k and for that amount of money there should be better conditions. Im not telling you this info because im mad and didn't get my way about anything. The fact is I could not find anything on the wschool when I looked before I went. Many of the students are prior felons. Many of them act out in class and the teachers say nothing to them. I encourage you to visit the school and really look around. Make sure you see class room F. look on the ground and see how littered it is with cigarette butts. After you get there they will make it very clear that they all about getting your money. They already have my money so I will finish.

Graduated. Got a job. Happy for now
cool congrats, who you working for ?
So did you help the school out and clean up the class rooms or did you leave it as you found it for the next guy to complane about ?
What i dont understand is if your a f***ing ndt guy then what the hell are you doing on a "dumb ass water heads" website?
I dont know if you noticed when you would see brian or mike walking around the school with potential students. That thing that they were doing is taking them on a tour, and on said tour potential students are escorted around the school so they can see the school they are thinking about attending. This is called "exploring your options". If you "couldnt find anything on the school before you went" then you had to have had some way, shape or form had some kind of info, such as a phone number to call and get your questions answered or did you just somehow show up one day and just start attending that same day? You had to have recieved a catalog before starting there. In that catalog that you recieved before attending TOC, I'm pretty sure it tells you clearly, more than once, the times and days that you can take said tour. Your narrow minded ass didnt take the time to read the catalog of the school you are wanting to attend. So now because of your "Really smart planning" ( and I hope to god that your one way thinking brain detected the sarcasim) you wanna cry because you didnt take the time to do any kind of research. There is this thing that is called google and I'm pretty sure that it has alot of information about TOC.

Looool, surely true.

Should have done your home work on were you wanted to go to school, and when you go to work you are going to be dirty 24-7 working as a tender so in the long run you will think your school was not that bad. I want you to ask all the other people you are going to school if they feel the same as you,if so then your a team player if not then get on the team with the rest and don't let it bother you.

@ndt I have a felony, I am enrolled. Starting this month. Maybe the oil, gas, energy etc. business isn't for you. I stopped getting my ass wiped for me a long time ago. Then I did 3 tours in Iraq as a Marine Infantryman, so as far as I am concerned, lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way. I walk forward, not backwards!

P.S. Go back to school and work on your grammar! It bleeds ignorance! Good Day

A mans past, has nothing to do with his future.... If he wants to change it. The MASTER DIVER who broke me out in 89 was a CHINO Diver. Many make mistakes, some men spend a lifetime finding redemption. Felon or not, he was the best diver I ever worked around, and a damn excellent teacher.... Be careful of how you judge people, Divers have a Pirates nature ( hence the name Oild Field Trash) we are not socialites, and don't take tea at noon. Be light on judgement boot, it will make your learning experience easier.

Just a note here Chino dive trainning Program dosen't certify Master Divers only the US Navy Master

Divers Program does.

If your talking about scuba diving then Padi & Naui does that for recreational scuba divers.

Jerry was talking about the lead diver. that makes him master over the other divers (Master Diver)

You do not have to be a Navy diver to earn the title of Master Diver.

There were Master Divers before the Navy had there first diver.

Pile Drivers Local 34, in 1960s classed a diver with 15 years of experiance a Master Diver.

and he was paid more then the other divers and was at the top of the list for jobs.

Its experiance and the ability to lead men that makes a Master Diver.

This by no means takes away the ability of Navy Master Divers.

I'm probably going to this school in May.  I know your post is old already, but how long after graduation does it take to land a job?(for most students)  I need a job asap and not sure how difficult it is.  I know you get what you put in and all but I'm just worried I wont get a job since I'll only be a helper.
