Check the trade magazines for upcoming and ongoing projects, like- offshore mag. , rigzone, etc., research the diving companys, hiring agencys, you'd like to work for. Establish what kind of divers are used by them, certs, experience, etc. When they anticipate a requirement for more crew. The old hammers/tigers are a bit resistant to broadcast work availability when things are tight as now, to benefit the mob of new divers that haven't made their bones. On most of the offshore crews I've worked, no more than 1 or 2 new hands (divers with less than a couple of hundred hrs. bt ) used to be fairly standard, now in ME, India, etc. its more common to see limited hour air divers, mostly local hires, but the wages are sliding down. So do your due dilligence hunker down to some serious research, never expect an old hand to say, come over to....or XXX is hiring lots of green guys. I prefer diving with an experienced crew but times are changing. So bear down and research research research. Good luck-I just posted 2 big contracts on my page that I had emailed to me by a freind.
