Gidday, if you are concidering working for Southern Cross Demolition, be very wary,

I worked for them last year in Mackay, june-december, flooded river, broco and underwater boosters most days, rigging 10,000kg + lifts, the owner of SCD told me and 4 other divers that there would be a bonus for piles removed, this was not fullfilled and there is around $20,000Aud  owing to the dive crew. They are looking for a dive crew in innesvale nth qld, 30 an hr, look on seek jobs oz

Be wary

Cool Evan, they are based on the gold coast i believe, specialise in demolition, They did a job in canberra on a hospital i believe a few years ago, 1 fatality, should of done my homework really, worked our a**** off for this mob with lots of promises in the pipe but they shafted us well and truly, we cut 700 + piles, 400mmx400mm concrete or 400 round steel cast, all of these type of piles had 8x 25ishmm re bar that we had blasted to remove the concrete then just cut to remove the pile, 8metres viz to black depending on the tide and these d***s chuck a photo of a bird crapped pile to discredit us, i rest my case Evan, how could you make a mess of those even if the river is in flood??, thanks for your reply

Sharon I reject your statement,

It's funny that someone came forth and stated that working for SCD was a risky decision and then immediately another agreed, if two workers weren't happy with a company within the same contract them something must be a miss. I was simply puting my concerns out for new divers wanting work that in my opinion the contract I was on was run by a company that I personally thought acted like a bunch of cowboys who compromised divers safety to get the job done in time.

And as a reply to no piles being cut well thats inaccurate at best, over 2 weeks 4 columns of rio encased concrete backed piles were ringbarked and then snapped with the excavators like pre planned, it was the excavators removing and hammering the piles whilst divers were black water cutting that I was refering to in my first post.

Try keep the facts true from up on that high horse.
