Hey Guys:

Can anyone tell me where to find mounting brackets for a video camera / light for a Superlite 27.  I've seen quite a few pictures with the brackets mounted where a welding shield usually goes (cameral on one side light on the other) but I cant find them on the Kirby Morgan site or any of the camera sites I've gone to (Of course I may have just missed them too).

I'd appreciate any help

buy some 3/16" brass sheet and cut out your own brackets. cost you about $10 bucks.
or if you dont know how to do that swing buy your local high school metal shop and as a kid to make them for you.
real fancy buy stainless steel or chrom the brass after you make them.
Buy them from a U/W camera supply company and there big bucks.
Hey Fred:

Thanks for the ideas. LOL - I'm not good at metal work and dont have the tools to do it though and the high scools wont be back in operation for another month and a half :) .

I've tried contacting Sea-View Underwater Search Equipment in Ontario as their website says they carry them but they arent answering the emails.

Metal from recycle yard, a vice, hammer and elec. drill and drill bit.hose clamps.
Even a good hardware store will have all you need to make them.
Its not complicated and you will learn something new.
You can even build them out of 1/4" lexan or plastic. Bend the lexan in hot water.
Keep it simple Doug.
Or like Leach did spend $25 + bucks each for someone else to do what I have told you how to do yourself.
Hi Fred:

I'll keep it in mind as an option

Thanks for the idea

I bought a couple of Stainless Steel brackets from Divers Supply in Gretna, La. They mount where your welding lens would mount. Good quality. They have an arc to them that matches up with most cameras and small lights. I remember paying 25 clams ea. They may be a bit more now.
Hi James:

Thanks - I'll give them a try. That sounds like the ones that I was trying to find.

Doug
i would ask the dive schools around the globe.
Hi Toby, Skylar

Thanks for the suggestions.

So far I've found one place in the US that wants $80 US for a pair (plus shippping) and one place in Ontario that wants $125 US for a pair (plus shipping) and that took 3 emails to get him to respond then he couldnt even get my name right (Is Doug that hard? Personally I dont think it sounds much like Mike).

I've drafted out a pattern for them and I'm going to take it to a metalwork shop tomorrow and see how much they'd charge to make a pair.
Doug,
you can swing by the hardware store and look at frameing brakets for house building , they are galvanized and have h***s punched for nailing to wood frames.
cost about $5 for two. then tweek them into what you want.
or take 2-inch x 3/16 brass flat bar to the metel shop and have it drilled then bent to what you want. If you were near me I would show you how to make them for free just so you would know how to do it in the future.
Good pics.

I drafted out the design today and took it to a metalwork shop. $20 (Canadian) to have two done out of 16 gauge stainless steel using a computerized plasma cutter. They'll be finished friday so I'll post some pictures when I get them.

Thanks for all the ideas and leads guys. I couldnt have drafted them out without the pictures to go by.
