Hello, I am interested in commercial diving in USA. I have currently IMCA licence, so I am just wondering which is the best way to get ADC ticket. Any chance of conversion, or do I have to do all course again in states?

Thank you for any help

PS: what's the situation in the field of commercial diving industry in USA right now, busy?

ha ha ha, come on ace, i know the truth!
situation in the field. D.O.A!!
Thanks for reactions, so as I see it's not realy international applicable job. Actualy just Netherlend and USA are different..., or any other countries make it difficult for international recognition?
So, another course and money, to do the same job. It's just ridiculous..

Thanks anyway
Your IMCA cert. is just fine, most big companies are IMCA. The problem will be with immigration. You need a company to sponsor you with a work visa. This won't happen easily because the GOM is very slow right now, there are a lot of able hands sitting on the beach, so companies don't need to import divers like they did 3 years ago.

You might want to try the back door approach. Get with a company that works overseas and then immigrate through legal channels. Here are some US companies that work overseas: Global Industries, Oceaneering, Helix/Caldive, J. Ray McDermot, Condive, Veolia, Seamar. I'm sure there's more.

If you're really desperate to get into the US, find someone to marry.
Petr,
I believe most companies here in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico would accept your certification and work experience, but... Things are slow here at the moment. Companies here tend to hire the guy that shows up at the doorstep ready to go offshore. That means being a resident of Texas, Louisiana or nearby and having the right to legally work in the U.S.
Good luck,
MW
