Has anyone gone down to the Gulf of Mexico for work. It seems there are always positions available, but I have heard some nasty stories about their safety records. Is there any truth to that?

Hello Everyone
I`m working at getting my Commercial diver ticket through EI and I need someone that is hiring divers or is willing to hire after the course is done, if anyone has info or can steer me in the right direction that would be great.
My course is finished the end of july and it has to be in Ontario.

Trevor
I work for a general contractor in Quebec. We do all kind of construction from underwater jobs, dams, road , building, windmill etc. We are involved in civil ( inland) diving but not offshore.

We always have some engineer student working with us on jobs during summer time. Let me know if this is something who could be interesting for you and I could give you some contacts .

Good luck

Hey all, just wondering if anybody could give me some advice? I'm a third year civil engineering student and after i graduate i plan on getting into some aspect of commercial diving.

I don't have any certification for commercial diving yet i want to finish my engineering degree first.

I was hoping to get a summer job for 2009 that had at least a little bit to do with the field i was hoping somebody could point me in the direction of a company i could apply to. Any other advice would be appreciated too!

Thanks

sat sat sat sat sat why is it always considered the pinnacle of diving

im not saying that sewer diving is but really we work in a multi faceted industry with many idiosyncrasies, not just sat. doing a hot tap in 80' and at 800' just more toys.

Love to join, but I'm not Canadian. So I joined so I could tell you. I'm gonna go and not join the group for ISS South African divers so I can tell 'em I can't join. Cheers Lads.
