seen that happen to a diver on the Pipeliner 5, we were setting the Jet Machine, took his thumb right off when his glove got hung on a fishhook on the tugger cable! Took his tuhmb off all the way down to the hand! It did hurt! Diver was unable to return to diving afterwards. This bloke had clear water, what a p*****!

It doesn't take long to lose a finger- or more. I don't want to criticise the diver. There are lessons in this = hose management seems to have played a part here, having a drift pin or long stud at hand may have stabilised the clamp ears which were obviously mobile. I lost the tip of my right index finger inside a sat system many years ago and I blame myself. I'll bet the diver in this film is wiser for the experience!
Be as safe as you can, guys & gals.

it's amazing how something like this still happens. clamp install on a pipe, surge in the water, finger in pinch point, no gloves.
