A fellow diver of DIT is in critical condition today after a accident at the school.

They cooled his body and warmed it back up and got more vitals from him as of Thursday morning.

The diver, in his thirties, was a student of DIT, participating in an off-campus dive on the seattle waterfront. Parts of the KMB floated to the surface than disappeared below the surface. The other divers in the water went on a search to locate the diver, and found him floating face down with no pulse. After getting him to surface, firefighters helped the other divers get him out of the water and performed CPR for approx. 20 min before regaining a pulse. The diver is currently in critical condition, on life support, in a brain dead state.

I will post other details as I receive them from the friends that are current students at the school.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the diver, his family, and his classmates.

it was a KMB band mask.. that caused the accident. he is currently on life support.

I hope the guy (I assume a guy) is going to make it out OK. We've had a couple of bad things happen in the industry this week, things that no one wants to have happen. doug
