I worried about the same stuff when I signed with DIT. It's a great school, and most of the instructors are awesome. I can't comment on the industry because I just graduated two days ago, and I am leaving for the gulf of mexico to get work on Monday. I will no more for sure later. I do know that as a diver, you are constantly traveling and looking for the next job. It is definitely not a 9 to 5 job. The diving companies will not return phone calls or act like you even exist until you have your certs in your hand and you are knocking at their door, so don't let that worry you. So far, I love diving, and the money can be really good. Good luck with your decision.
