Seen a DM-7 on a job 1977-8 time frame, I believe there was a tensioning knob with a bump feature to quickly disengage the adjustment wire, which had jumped the shive inside the helmet with the diver trapped inside…ended up using a big pipe-wrench to free the stuck diver.
