Sorry for the spelling as I use only two fingers to type. Old school
I am 2nd generation diver with a bubble ego. ha-ha . As a child I pulled my Dads umbilical for his Morse Commercial ,ran the tug and the crane. The year I sold this band mask it was advertised as a DSI heliox 18 with comms. I think as a mixed gas band mask for sat was the marketing plan for DSI. Look it up or contact your local antique diving charter. They call them kmb 18 now upgraded versions are the kmb 28. So we can both be right as they changed the name to DSI 18 from Heliox 18 as I dove them then.
I actually traded it for a 17b at that time, Good deal for me. I just bought a used kmb 18 and its mint except for the hood needs to be replaced and only 3 scratches . Sweet deal
Up here in the great North we have to do it all to survive scuba shop, dry dock ,salvage, commercial anything to feed the family in the Great lakes basin and under the ice.
It's interesting about divers they all have these little groups of ego bubbles. I deal with them all the same. If you are good people we give you all we have and a hot dinner too. Fortunately I am still learning after all this time and yes I do make mistakes. I like all divers sport , tech, comm., fire, police , military most started out as students or customers and become long term friends .
I like them all, but they always have this we are better than the other divers….thingy. Whatever if you are turning a dollar at diving you are doing good. I guess every sport ,job, profession is the same.
Keep it Real Wet
still having fun and loving it all
cheers
Rob
I still have my orange plastic kmb 9 my first band mask we call it the plastic pumpkin. I thought I was so cool back then ha -ha…
