I am nearly finished my combi course with PDA. I am going to start sending my CV out.
I have OWSI qualification along with a couple of TDI tickets for advanced nitros and deco procedures. Although I am well aware this is different diving to commercial I feel it shows qualities such as a commitment to diving and in water experience. Do I include these qualifications?

Cheers for that. That was what I thought but a couple of my instructors are real anti sport diver and said leave them off. My feelings were as you said "cant do any harm". Thanks for showing me yours. Big help.

Personally I'd leave it off. Sport diving has absolutely no relevance to the commercial world and some employers are anti scooby diver. You will be employed on your HSE tickets and what work experience you bring to the job. Listen to the instructors, they are getting paid to tell you this stuff for a reason.
i left dive school on the Friday and started work on the Monday, the first question i was asked is if i had any previous SCUBA experience.
i had been diving for 9 years previously, down to 60m with TX (TDI aswell) so no stranger to the water.
when i said yes, the dive supervisors answer was 'good! because im happy to tell you anything about commercial diving but im not here to teach you to f*@%$g dive'.
like simon says, some sups. are anti-scooby diver and some are not.
i think its the kind of thing that could count in your favour but could also count against you.
on my cv under hobbies, i have 'underwater videography' and i leave it at that.
i wouldnt list every scooby quallification you have, perhaps just the top one if any.
for example...PADI night diver...!! the quallification in itself is a joke, diving in the dark!
almost every civils job you do will be in the dark, during the day time.
use your SCUBA skills to you advantage, but dont crow about them. there are plenty of commie divers out there who have no idea what Daltons or Boyles Law is, but if you understand them it will put you ahead of the game.
just out of interest, im onboard a ship at the moment, there are 8 divers and 2 sups.
7 of us are recreational divers including one of the sups!!
