Hi there to all of you particularly the norwegians. In November I'll attend a diving course at NYD in Oslo. Is there anyone who can tell me anything about the job prospects either in Norway or anywhere else after completing the course. I am a college graduate so I have no previous background in the industry. Thanks for any kind of suggestion.

Thanks a lot Eirik. I was told to accept any job that might be offered to me. Why is fish farming something I should avoid?
Can you tell me how you have been doing since the course?
Have you been air diving or did you went into sat as well?
Is it true that sat diving is very hard to get into for foreigners? As you can see I am from Croatia which is a very small country.
How many days on average per year do you work?
is it mostly offshore or do you do inshore as well?
I know I have a lot of questions but you're the only one I can ask at least for the time being.
Thanks for answering my questions.
I have been working in the GOM. I have my canadian ticket, and was wanting to know where I should start in order to work in the north sea how much experience do the companies over there like to see in order to want to hire an international also what are some good offshore companies to work for their

thank you for your input
well mate unfortunately I can't help you right now since I haven't even started with my course. You should check around and try asking some of the members of the Norwegian group who are already working divers. Hopefully they can help you. If I stumble across any kind of info that could prove useful to you I will contact you. Then again tell me what's wrong with the GOM? Are you having trouble finding work or what?
I'm note sure weather your ticket is good, or at least in the UK. But if its IMCA certified then I dont see a problem. If your looking for some companies for the Offshore sector then you could try RGB, I think they are looking for some offshore guys.

As for you Erik, good luck with your course. I have been finding it hard to find any work but thats the problem with being a newbie diver especially living in portugal. Though I have been helping out with some search and rescue stuff lately so at least I got the ball moving, But hearing that there might be work going on in Norway... well I might have to crash at my sis and have a look around for work up there :)
Hay guys,
I am new here in this group but I have lived for a very long time in Iceland (but born in Bulgaria)...as strange as it sounds yes I was there for a long time...I have a lot of experience in the diving industry but now I find it very hard to find work anywhere. I have the HSE Surface Supply and HSE Surface Supply Top Up cerificates. I was wondering if I could try searhing for work in Norway...any ideas guys.At the moment I will accept any work since I have a loan from the balnk to pay. I'll appreciate any help or sugestions from anyone.
cheers
