Answer for Scott F. Danes' question: Maybe just maybe the dive schools have and are cranking out too many tender/ apprentice diving students for the actual jobs that are actually out there in the field. That would be making it a corporate employers game. Lets see how many dive schools are they ? How many cla**** ? Do some math every one wants to be a diver.
That would make it a financial race to the bottom of the barrel. Good Luck.

I am from 84 but a friend of mine might be from around that era. (1971) His name is Jack Baldelli and I think he went to cdc in the early or mid 70s.
