what does it take to go offshore?
I've been into civil construction for over 4 years and been trying to get into the offshore industry for some time already. It would be very helpful for divers in my situation if those who made it shared their experience with us.

Patience, nerve, and open mindeness, OS divers aint like any there breed. Nicknamed Oil Field Trash, for a reason... We do what the suits and drillers cant. The pay as of late doesnt reflect it.... But OS divers are some of the best in the business. WHen the s*** gets real bad, the retirees who are smart enough to go inland are called back. Learn Listen, Learn (Schools Cant teach what these divers will ) trust me on this...and Good Luck in the GOM or where ever you go to sea and work...
