Hey all I have all the basic diving qualifications and iv been working in the trade for just less that two years now Im looking to specialise in a particular aspect of diving (Inspection, medical, welding etc) and since my surface job involved a s***load of stick and TIG welding it seems only natural to continue underwater just wondering if its worth investing the $4000 to take the course, is there much demand for certified welders , are there lots of welders (seems that welding requires loads more skill than NDT for example does this keep the numbers down) and how dificult is it to crack the market (do companies have to use certified personell because in SA (onshore) if you can weld you can do the job) any advice would be great thank you
