There's been some frustration about stuff that's been posted here lately, so I'm going to make clear the position of cDiver.net and I'd like to get your opinions:

We're not here to play "big brother" on what is said, but we will remove any content that is offensive or blatantly targeted at another member. You can be funny, controversial, argue points, take a stance, share info...whatever suits you.

I saw a photo that a member uploaded (aw hell, who am I kidding. It was Ethan.), I happened to have a short fuse today and banned him. Then I read some posts made by cDiver members and decided against it.

They made good points about him being entertaining and I really do appreciate the people who are highly involved in cDiver.net. So, he has been unbanned.

But...everyone do me a favor and don't make me waste time deleting stuff that is just outright offensive, especially if it's directed at another member. Let's be constructive here and have fun while we're doing it.

My 2 cents. Thoughts?

Thank you Adam for keeping this professional.
Awww Adam, I really liked my post concerning the little Ethan - Toby thing. The personalities that populate this profession (damn i love alliteration) will always be a spectacle to behold and that will at times cause some friction among individuals. I'm glad Ethan is not banned, even though he can be a little irritating to some, I think he's just being himself and if we in this great country ever put a ban on that, then I'm gonna be the first one in DC with my gadsden flag waving and my guns ablazing. hehehe (don't worry secret service - idle threats) Anyways usually if this sorta thing happens offshore it goes on for a bit to everyones amusement till it gets borderline outta hand - then some cooler headed idividual will slap down all the bs and remind everyone that they need to stop acting like they are on the playground and that we have some serious tasks at hand. (We were at the dock today for groceries and fuel, so i had a front row seat and got to watch it all playout--I was certainly entertained) Granted it can definately be taken too far and I suppose that u were right in getting a handle on it. This can be a rough business and u gotta be rough right back at it - I myself would be sad to see the rough around the edges smoothed out for the sake of toeing the line of the times. There is a good reason for this kinda mental conditioning - it exists in the army as well - it helps the skin grow a little thicker and developes a twisted sense of humor that allows individuals to better cope with austere environments and difficult situations. It brings people together who may have no better reason to look out for one another other than the fact that they shared a common expierence that most would never have the ability to imagine, let alone cope with, but i digress - i don't wanna make the toby-ethan scandal of '09 into some soap box for life lessons. anyway i hope to see both Toby and Ethan in many posts, photos and discussions to come. Yes its best to try and keep it professional - but it's fun to get a little rowdy too. Work hard, Play hard, but try and be safe.
You wrote the best post I had seen yet R. Hood, and it's too bad not all can read about your amusement courtesy the jingling bells of cDiver's jester.
yes, thanks for the professionalism.
To keep things relaxed and fun, I think I'll meet any inappropriate content with some funny photo-shopping of my own. Ye be warned...
Oh that would be rich! A much better idea and more effective than banning people... PUBLIC HUMILIATION!! LOL
there's a difference between being thick skinned and simply not wanting to deal with drama and kids.
So one day three damn good men are killed in a freak accident offshore....giant fish swallows em wh***. Nobody saw it comming. The three fine men were Ace, RHood, and Toby. RIP.

So the three men find themselves before St Peter at the gates and Peters checking his list and the mens' credintials

"you're all three good men and you're all welcome in the kindom of heaven. Yes, even you RHood. But, let me explain the ground rules of living in heaven..." and he goes on to explain the rules, "... and the most important rule DO NOT STEP ON THE DUCKS.

So off the three men go into an eternity of bliss when right off the bat our poor dearly departed brother Ace steps on a duck's foot. Suddenly the wind changes and lightning strikes and out of the sky two warrior angels swoop down and begin placing shackles and chains on Ace and on these shackles is the ugliest most disgusting female you can't imagine.
"Whats happening!? What have I done to deserve this?" Ace screams out.

The angels explain that punishment for stepping on a duck is what has been delt and it is forever.

So, now, a little more cautious RHood and Toby continue on. A few weeks later Hood lets his guard down and trips on one duck and steps square on the back of another. In pure horror Toby watches as the same cruel fate and justice is placed upon Hood, only the woman is even more hidious.

Poor Toby is terrified and almost paranoid and as an added precaution shuffle walks everywhere to ensure no chance of stepping on a duck and its working... when suddenly the sky bursts into flames and the angels appear and he sees they've brought him a woman so beautiful that it would bring mortal men to tears. and they chain her to him. Delighted Toby asks, "What have I done to be granted this honor?!" The angels say nothing only continue with their chains. Toby asks again "What did I do to deserve such a fine woman?

The woman speaks up, "My name is Liz and I dont know what you did but I STEPPED ON A DUCK
