Welcome,

I am 24 years old and I consider career as a commercial diver. In this year I will receive BSc in mechanical engineering with specialization of marine propulsion plants operation (STCW studies). I have been studying part-time so I was gaining some experience during this time in the offshore fleet as a marine mechanic. And despite of the crisis I am still working, actually on multi-purpose offshore supply vessel with DP2...

My plan is to graduate BSc this year and then in the next onje go for commercial diving course. Immediately after passed commercial diving course I would like to go also for MSc in subsea engineering in UK and then start full-time work.

What are the expectations for job market in the diving industry? And how you evaluate my chances for changing occupation from marine engineer to diver (also pass MSc in subsea engineering). I consider also other opportunities. After some years of working as a commercial diver I think that with MSc in subsea and some related experience It could be possible to work even ashore where diving systems and technology is present.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you in advance!!
