OIL leak needs solution and we need info from offshore

Please read thread by Dale Harris about his design for solving the oil leak.  There is probably not a better group of people to help design a solution than those of us who have dove on this crap before.  We also know just how bad this could get for our oceans and our planet.  Why can't they hot tap it?  Why can't they get to the BOP (too much spaghetti?)?  What is really going on down there?  Where is some information about this?  It really is a small industry and we know it, get with your people and find out what is going on if you can.  We really do need to put our heads together here.

Dale had a great idea, and Im sure it would work, theres only one problem. There are those who will use this situation to advance their careers, Military (USCG, and believeit or not some of the Diving management on this project as well as locals trying to get in on it. ) There are a lot of great volunteers, and a mile high stack of "Suggestions" in Washington, unfortunately, Politicians still think we who do the work are ignorant uneducated and uncivilized. Id like to see the Prez in a drysuit...... Keep the faith, eventually they will wake up and let us do what we do.
I am glad to see the forum address the disaster. I get allot of questions from people and family on what we did back in the day about capping wells and plug&abandons, etc,. I always remember on every project I worked the Blueprints left out some little point. I remember the 90ft leg stiffener we installed on the Piper-Alpha back in 80. We had to burn windows in all the gusset plates so the impact wrench would fit. Love those engineers! Always kept us busy in Sat! The media when reporting the work being done is like our dear president speaking without his teleprompter in the 1st grade classroom!

We all know the problems they are facing with the physics of the environment. The temp and PSI are temporarily making a liquid a solid and ice is also acc**ulating. The hot water flush inside the dome was my first suggestion and i think it is already being done. The transfer pipe or tube should be heated as well with insulated cooper heated wrap. We used this in welding habitats so the welders(prima donas) could complete their pa**** and all the welds pass x-ray. But then again we have the problem of 5000ft. Now I expect someone to say Young ,shut up and get in the Bell for checks and we will just tell ya what to do when we get to the job-site! I already got Dysbaric Osteonecrosis thank you Dr.Lambertson! Roat The Goat, will know what to do! Maybe some unemployed NASA guys will build us a gymsuit we can work in!
