I have dove alot of kirby morgan hats but never dove the 27. But lookin to buy one found a good deal on a used one I dont know any one local with a 27 to try and the hat it self is out of state. I have heard that the hat is real tight on guys with big heads and can lead to disconfort any truth behind this? .

Thanks

It feels to light for me, especially when working face down. It lifts your head and that makes it chaff your chin and strains your neck. It breathes just fine. Make sure it has the pull pins and not the push type, for those use to jam up when jetting in sand. If it's a good deal, then go for it, you can add weight if you feel the need. They make a better hat, the 57 is superb.
I'm not THAT old Mike. Ask Marty!
Last time I used a Swindell was whiletrying to find the screws on the ARK. That's the job Noah run me off on. Wouldn't believe me that there was no rope in them. Told him that the vibration was due to the elephants mating. He was pissed when he found out I had stole away with the coyotes.
If you have a big head I can do you a custom hat for about the same price as a twenty + 7. I have one that is outfitted with a neckdam for a 10+7.
Sorry Shawn but the coyotes will be throwing rocks at you now. I learned a couple of new tricks. The sheep got taken away by the rancher cause the babies all look irish. Never seen red headed sheep before. However the rancher said he got top dollar for them due to the red hair. He should be gettin a new batch and says he will pay you to come back and do a repet. Sorry f****r never gave me no money, just a load of rocksalt.
ITS MY FAVORITE HAT TO DIVE IN I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS ON IT, EVEN THE GUYS WHO WEAR IT LIKE IT.
Just my 2 cents worth here If I where to take a 10# Mall and hit all but 1 Kirby hat built (and yes I own a 27) verses hitting my Miller ,Gladeatar, Groski, or my Mark V. Which would survive? Thats why I dive METAL HATS.
Do some reshearch before you buy! If posible try some differant hats that are around you will find that there are many more products with better performance than "Just Kirby Morgan" for a reasanable price in comperison
I was happy to get rid of my Miller 100 and all three of my Miller 300's that old museum piece and get some of what I consider todays engineering is a Gorski and the next bronze hat I ever get will be a Gladiator that Marty makes. Simple is better and cheaper.
Thanks for all the replies. I was able to try on the 27 I was tight as hell on my head. But I was able to pic up a used 47 nice hat going to dive it this week hope all goes well. As for the Metal Hats Nice but nobody services them in the north east.
That is wrong. Any diver that can read can service my hats. They are that simple. Any commercial shop that can do hat inspections can inspect my hats. If they do not have the procedures then I can get it to them. Most of my hats have gone up north, east and west and several into Canada. And the price is very reasonable. Call me 281-536-5294. Find a Poseidon dealer and check out the Xstream regulator. Or if you are a diehard dial-a-breath regulator fan I can do a custom job for you.
I dove a 27 for about 5 years. Found it to be the best hat I have worn by Kirby. The hat is small and fits me very well. I dont have a big ol, meat head so I really felt comfortable. I have dove 17s,37s and 57s from Kirby. Those hats were to big for me. Keep in ming your head size and head possition when you do most of your diving. If you are working looking down most of the time the more air you have in your hat the more stain you have on your neck. I like a hat that fits snugg. kinda gives you that
"at one with your hat" feeling. I now dive a Beat Engle sponsered by Desco. Its called a DSL B2 best hat I have ever dove and will never dive anouther. Love it!!! Also have a Heavy Metal Gladiatore. good hat but its like diving a 37. Its new but would trade it now for older used Beat Engle, a Miller or a 27 on the spot. it may take sometime to find the right hat. When you do you will know it.
Shaune, who did you buy your Gladiator from? I know who I sold them to and you were not one.
Shaun, I saw your pic of the Gladiator. Who is wearing it? What seriel number? Just curious. That is a 1st generation hat. Should last you a lifetime. If you need a spares kit let me know.
