I rember sometime ago being told that rental was worth between 3% and up to 10% of the cost of the item but lets face it other factors are there also like wear and tear and like also mentioned supply and demand. In the big picture the rental has to make sense for both sides of the deal. If a new suit costs for example $1300. X .03% = $39.00 a day x 7days = $273 a week x 30days = $1170 a month well that could work. Double check the math please.

Typical rental rates are as follows:
1 day = 10% purchase price
7 day week = 4 x day rate
month rate = 8 x day rate

I used this formula a company rental rates for many years.
Equipment damaged above normal wear and tare was charged at
full cost.
