That the sudafed you buy off the shelf today at the pharmacy is only 5mg and to get the good stuff you really need to equalize for the clearing of your ears with is 30 mg. Today you have to walk up to the pharmacy counter and ask for it and also sign for it as its a controlled drug and you can only buy a limited amount every month . It use to be that you could buy 30mg off the shelf not anymore. So Now you know.

I use sea water. Cup your hand and fill it with salt water then snort it up. Your sinuses will immediately drain out. Real sea water works better than mixed salt and water.
Marty that is a great method also however seawater can have and has all kinds of bad stuff in it that can give a diver a sinus infection. Most people don't realize how much bad stuff is really in water. If possible try and get a bottled water or something that would be considered more pure. Anything to avoid a possible sinus infection. I along with many other divers have used sea water in a pinch however the risk of a sinus infection still remains. Using sea water is a old divers trick that comes in handy.
I use Zicam nasal spray, much better than Afrin or redhots. It doesn't have that awful tasted that makes you want to puke and works instantly.
Yea it wouldn't be good to get baby jellyfish or man-o-war. I have gotten sea salt from store and mixed it up which is better than kitchen salt. It sure will make it drain fast though.
Now there's a visual that's going to be stuck in my head for a while, baby jellyfish floating lost in the sinus cavities of a divers head. Wonder if I can photo shop that image to an x-ray? LMAO

Chere, I'd use the medical grade normal saline solution and a small squirt bottle, mixing it up at home may have worked OK so far, but salt water is hypertonic, meaning it draws the moisture out of the tissue. That's why it works so good for you; but if its too hypertonic it can dry out the mucous membranes, causing them to swell and bleed, etc.
dude get the regularr sudafed, generic brand. no additives, just the regular stuff. as an ex-usn guy i can tell you that the basic stuff is good to dive on; everything else might make you sleepy or worse... good luck.
