CCTV adapters? anyone with a bit of tech know how?

I was wondering if anyone has a bit of electrical/tech knowledge. Currently using a Bowtech CCTV system which is huge and a pain in the ass to lug around. I was wondering if I could simply get an adapter cable that fitted the dry end of the divers umbilical (12 pin) and had a USB on the other end so I could plug straight into a laptop. Would there need to be some sort of signal converter in between camera and laptop or could it simply operate like u would a USB webcam? Any thoughts would be greatly appreiciated.
