Update

Posting names of thiefs.....is it wrong?  Perhaps....this is my post to CDiver moderator

after John took down the equipment thief post even after being supplied a police case number....I understand....here is my response to him

John......Its your server bubba do what you want, We work all day and dont have much time for reminising old times on beached divers forums.

In the business world John, thiefs are the scurge of God...much like Atilla the Hun was to civilization.  The fact of the matter is, my job was sabatoged and my hat was taken from our possesion and put in a rental car and removed from the job site and I provided a POLICE CASE NUMBER to you to post in our diving community forums...because we all cant stand a thief.

I realise you have to protect your web users and keep thier names hidden and nobody has time flame wars.  We will notify business owners daily....I have a girl in the office and thats all she is going to do for a few days....then we are going to hire Columbian Attornys to make the pain even more felt...we are not getting over it....we are going El PASO on them so to speak John.

Conflicting reports.......what did you expect a confession?

These newbie divers were gawd danm shocked to see how small our community is...Im sure these thiefs have student loans to pay back

Hi Rick,

I've heard back from Dale and the stories are quite conflicting.  Since the investigation is ongoing and the stories are conflicting I am going to remove the post because it has the diver's actual names in it.  Please repost with the following text:

Its unfortunate when someone is hired and entrusted to be part of a dive crew and taken in as family only to have them rent a car in the cover of darkness and slip away with your new 27.  When called both parties involved they denied having the hat and wondered if they could pick up their checks.  When confronted by waiting police at the office our hat emerged from the trunk of their rental car!  How lucky was that!  Both parties now have a Felony Theft Charge in Alice Texas.  Both divers were straight out of school and due to the hard work we endure and them becomming family to us they were both paid $25.00/hr......after being with us 30 days....thats how much we liked them.

Any questions regarding this incident feel free to call us.  972 484-5500

Thank you for understanding.  I don't want to jeopardize a divers chances of getting work, especially when both sides of the stories are so conflicting. Email me if you have any more questions.  Any further updates, please make sure names are removed.

When you steel another man's dive equipment you have crossed the line and just ended your membership in our divers brotherhood. Game over dude what part of being a thief dont you understand.

I would publish on line a copy of the police report.

Plenty of site's available where You can post on line at no cost.

Send me a copy of the report and I will post.

A thief is a thief, cutting their left pinky finger{the first time]to mark them as a thief is appropriate in some parts of the World.

Removal{cutting off] of their left hand the second time.

Case : 2011001968  Alice Texas  I'll get it, it was filed Friday.

Not only that these scurges, contacted the City of Alice web page and laid out false claims...to City Managers and Council Board Members that we did not........get this...wait for it.....wait for it....................................wait... ....................Decontaminate before entry in potable water.......AND.....O My gawd your going to love this...................They would be willing to come out there and take over thier tank cleaning and inspection needs.  Unmittigated Gaul to think these kids are going to spring for some scuba tanks and hop in the water.

As far as decontaminating.....we lift all ou dive gear up with well rigged ropes and man strength,  The least weight we pull up would be a pump up spray bottle with some chlorine granuals in it, compare that to 200' of umbilical, video, weight belts and gear.  AND MOST IMPORTANT....we may swear and sport a few tattoes drink a cold beer and even womanize...but at the end of the day we all feel like we made a small difference in ordinary folks lifes who are just like you and me trying to get by.....cleaning the storage tanks thier family's drink out of is an....................................... honor.  It part of my pay in life.

Thanks for supporting my anger

Standing with you Jack.
I say cut there nuts off or break there legs if I knew that they stole my equipment. Because now they are going to get a little slap on the hand and they will be back out doing what they do best ripping your equipment off. The law dose not work for you it works for state and FED.

I have had a lot of gear, helmets, tools etc high jacked over the years. because I was an employer which seems to make it ok and fair game.

these were union divers and tenders making good money.

I would go on a job and ask to use a hands cresent wrench and guess who's name was engraved on it.

helmets they said thay owned for years, it just looked like one I lost, no chance it was mine, they had a receipt at home someplace.

hummm I wonder how the last four numbers engraved in the speaker cup happend to be my social security number,

When I caught them, they were fired and the union could not do s*** about it. and when I would get a call by an employer looking to hire the bastards I just said good hands they will keep your shop cleaned out so you always have new gear for the next job.The only thing you can do is blacklist the bastards.

Dont p**** foot around.

Hats have serial numbers, not trying to belittle anyone, but it helps to get them registered immediately after you get it even if you buy it from another diver. receipt or not, it it doesnt have your signature you got 'em.

Sorry to hear about the theft.  Really shaddy of those jerkoffs.  Even though if they did had student loans to pay off they should have shown more f**kin respect that you gave them a chance and hire them.  These days with hard times those MFers should have known better!  I did not read the oringinal report, but i think i got the idea.

good luck, I'll pray for you and company to prosper.

by-the-way, sorry for misspelled words, its pass 330am here.
